I had gained some weight in the last year due to job changes/lack of exercise. I decided to reach out to Katie for help. She put me on a high fat/low carb diet, paying close attention to my sugar intake. I started this journey in July and have lost 13 pounds with minor fluctuations. My biggest challenge is the sugar part. I love it and struggle to minimize my intake. Katie keeps me in check. I love the Valkyrie Fitness app so I can track my workouts and nutrition. I would recommend her to anyone looking to tone up, lose weight or just take a look at their nutrition!
“I hired Katie about 4 months before my Air Force PT test. I told her what I was looking for and sent her copies of my past test results. She gave me some corrective exercises to help with my tight hip flexors and developed a comprehensive workout routine that worked all the muscles in my body. She told me she would not be satisfied unless I got a 90 on my next test. Since I am out of state, I went with the online personal training and nutritional package. Despite not having someone to report to physically, she still checked in on me regularly and gave me plenty of feedback and advice when I needed it. While the program was for 6 weeks, I kinda fell off the wagon after about a month. Regardless of that misstep, the routines Katie gave me made such a vast improvement in my strength that lasted well beyond my last rep. In August I was able to attain my first 90 on any AF PT test I ever took. It is unmistakable proof that Katie knows what she is doing and can help you attain your fitness goals.”
I am Katie Peavy and I am the owner/founder of Valkyrie Fitness Training. I have been an NASM Certified Personal Trainer since 2011. I suffered a devastating back injury (compression fracture of my L1 vertebra) in spring of 2002 and found relief through corrective exercise years later. Corrective exercise allowed me to take back control of my life and pursue my dreams of becoming an athlete, and a firefighter. I became a trainer so I can help others take control of their lives, and pursue their dreams as well. In the picture on the left, I was a tired, 30 year old mother of 2 with aches and pains and no energy spending hours at the gym and home, doing cardio based workouts, without getting the results I wanted. In the picture on the right, I was a 39 year old mother of 3, with more energy than my kids, doing no cardio, and felt very few aches and pains anymore, and I have continued to keep these results as the years have gone by! I want to help you get fit and healthy, and get the body of your dreams! Let’s get started today!
